A Sri Lankan undergraduate assignment template
Undergraduate coursework in Sri Lanka — at Colombo, Peradeniya, Sri Jayewardenepura, Moratuwa, Ruhuna, Kelaniya, Eastern, Jaffna, Open University, and beyond — converges on a skeleton: title page, abstract, numbered body sections, conclusion, references. This template provides exactly that scaffold with APA-style citation placeholders so you can start writing instead of formatting.
What's included
- Title page — title + course code + department + your name + index number + lecturer
- Abstract / සාරාංශය block — write this last, place it first
- Numbered body sections with H2 headings
- Conclusion / නිගමනය
- References list (APA 7th example formatting)
- Plagiarism declaration at the bottom
Frequently asked questions
Which citation style does the template use?
APA 7th by default — that's what most Sri Lankan social-science and management faculties require. For IEEE, Chicago, or Harvard, replace the example reference lines with the equivalent format.
Can I export to .docx for Turnitin?
Yes. File → Download as .docx produces a Word-compatible file that Turnitin (and your faculty's LMS upload forms) accept. Sinhala glyphs survive the conversion.
Can I write the assignment in Sinhala?
Yes. Type in Singlish; the editor converts to Sinhala in place. Type English technical terms with the English-mode toggle and they stay as Latin. Mixed-script assignments are the norm — the editor handles both fluidly.
